Melanie Ryan
Melanie Ryan grew up in Larned, Kansas and attended Christ for the Nations Institute in
Dallas, Texas. She graduated with a degree in Music and Theology. With this degree, she
brings a unique “Musicianary” style to her performances. Whether you are seeking God for
the first time, or needing renewal, you will be quickly uplifted and empowered by Melanie’s
deep-seated faith.
In 1994, she moved to Great Bend where she married Chris Ryan of Anthony, Kansas. They
have two children Alaycia and Samuel. She has also led music at Community Christian
Church for over seven years. Her singing ministry has spanned multiple venues such as;
festivals, churches, fairs, revivals, weddings and fund-raisers. In addition to performing at the
Kansas State Fairs, Melanie has opened concerts, by singing the National Anthem, for
Sugarland, Chicago, Gretchen Wilson, Styx and Heart.
In 2006, she debuted with a self-titled album which is a collection of old and new gospel
favorites. In 2007 Melanie teamed up with Nina Jerke for a collaborative album. The duo’s
new CD is a vocal-musical collection of favorites, as well as, several original songs that
Melanie authored. The new album should appeal to all audiences.
In 2008 Melanie took up the harmonica (mouth organ,French harp, blues harp, harp, jaw harp,
mouth harp) and added it's accompaniment. In 2009 she decided some of her original
compositions needed even more and has since added the acoustic guitar to her playing
repertoire. Rumors abound that in 2011 Mel will cross the great musicians' divide...
becoming a master drummer.

Chris' Biography
Chris, Mel's husband, was born and raised Anthony, Kansas. He graduated from
Southwestern College in Kansas and currently manages the Great Bend, KS office of
Sunrise Staffing Services. Chris serves as a Deacon at the Community Christian Church
of Great Bend, and works hard to be a GREAT dad to their two GREAT kids. He also
works as Melanie's built-in roadie, sound engineer, and all-round encourager.
